Sempre acompanhado pelo oceano, este é um tour menos exigente do que o Caminho Central, mas igualmente gratificante, pois você visitará as cidades e vilarejos medievais costeiros de Vila do Conde, Póvoa de Varzim, Viana do Castelo e Vigo, antes de se juntar à rota central em Redondela para continuar o caminho até Santiago de Compostela.

Pedalar o Caminho é uma jornada épica transformada em tour de bicicleta, uma peregrinação que começou no século IX com a descoberta, na Galiza, dos restos mortais de São Tiago. Em 1325, a rainha portuguesa Isabel fez uma peregrinação a Santiago seguindo uma rota muito semelhante à que hoje é marcada com setas amarelas, cruzando a então recentemente construída ponte de Barcelos. Agora é a sua vez de percorrer o Caminho de Santiago!

Comece a pedalar o Caminho na cidade do Porto, fundada no século IV durante a ocupação romana, visite seus locais de Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO e suas tradições únicas, arquitetura, vinhos do Porto e caves. Ao percorrer o Caminho de Santiago, você se sentirá como um cidadão do mundo, onde várias línguas são faladas como uma só, passando por incríveis vilarejos medievais com traços típicos da arquitetura e arte do norte de Portugal.

O Caminho Português de Santiago é composto por trilhas e estradas de terra, antigas estradas romanas, estradas municipais e até mesmo ao longo de estradas modernas. What you'll be experiencing everyday

Dia 1: Chegada e transfer do aeroporto do Porto

Recepção no aeroporto e transfer para o hotel escolhido para a noite, sempre localizado às margens do rio Douro, o cartão-postal icônico da cidade. Você terá uma tarde livre para visitar a bela e acolhedora cidade do Porto, rica em história e monumentos como a Torre dos Clérigos e a Ponte D. Luis. Os bairros antigos da Baixa, com suas lojas locais, restaurantes e pastelarias, a Ribeira à beira do rio Douro, de frente para as adegas do vinho do Porto, cheia de tradições e conexão histórica da cidade com o vinho e a região vinícola do Douro. Áreas de compras como a Santa Catarina e a Avenida dos Aliados. Não deixe de experimentar os ótimos restaurantes pela cidade, com algumas das comidas mais saborosas do país. Hotel - Vincci Porto ou Vincci Ponte de Ferro (opção premium)

Dia 2: Pedalando o Caminho: Porto - Ofir (65 km, 465 metros de altitude acumulada)

Após o café da manhã, você começará sua aventura pela cidade do Porto pedalando do seu hotel, descendo a Sé Velha e a Rua Mouzinho da Silveira até o rio Douro, percorrendo as ciclovias ao longo do rio Douro, até chegar a Leça da Palmeira. A partir daqui, você começará a seguir as setas amarelas pela costa de Portugal, em direção ao norte. De Leça da Palmeira, o Caminho será uma mistura de ciclovias, estradas pavimentadas e passarelas até a cidade histórica de "Vila do Conde" e um resort de praia, a cidade de pescadores de "Póvoa do Varzim" - ambas boas opções para o almoço. Depois de "Póvoa do Varzim", continue pedalando pelas pequenas aldeias de pescadores até chegar a Fão, onde você virará à esquerda, em direção ao oceano mais uma vez e à área florestada de pinheiros de Ofir, onde passará a noite no Axis Ofir (upgrade de quarto na opção premium)

Dia 3: Pedalando o Caminho: Ofir - Caminha (59 km, 562 metros de altitude acumulada)

Após o café da manhã no hotel, comece o dia pedalando para o norte, cruzando o rio para Esposende e ao longo do rio Cávado - depois pelas pitorescas aldeias do norte de Portugal. No km15, você começará a subir e entrará em uma trilha mais técnica até cruzar uma ponte muito estreita sobre o rio Neiva - outra subida seguirá até chegar a Viana do Castelo, do outro lado do rio, onde você poderá ver a igreja "Santa Luzia" no topo da serra próxima. O centro histórico da cidade é uma boa opção para parar para o almoço e visitar. Após Viana, continue pedalando para o norte e para o interior, através da cordilheira - algumas trilhas urbanas e estradas pavimentadas antigas seguirão até chegar a "Vila Praia de Âncora", de onde você percorrerá a Ecopista, à beira-mar, até chegar ao seu hotel para a noite - Porta do Sol ou Palacete Villa Idalina (opção premium)

Dia 4: Pedalando o Caminho: Caminha - Baiona (38 km, 468 metros de altitude acumulada)

Deixe Caminha em um barco de pescadores – que diariamente fazem várias viagens desde Caminha em direção a "A Guarda", entrando em Espanha. No nosso aplicativo dedicado encontrará a localização do cais de embarque – levando consigo a sua bicicleta, esta viagem não demorará mais que 10 minutos. No entanto se lembre que em Espanha a hora é diferente: mais 1 hora que em Portugal! Este dia não oferece grandes subidas, apenas altos e baixos até chegar a Baiona, uma bela cidade costeira. Enquanto isso, aproveite as vilas medievais ao longo da costa da Galícia, saboreando maravilhosas tapas e frutos do mar ao longo do caminho. Faça uma parada em Baiona para o almoço e admire esta bela cidade, descansando no "Parador" local, localizado à beira-mar desta cidade piscatória. Este é um passeio curto, mas agradável, para prepará-lo para o próximo dia, que é o passeio mais difícil da semana, então aproveite o tempo para relaxar em Baiona. Hotel - Parador Baiona (upgrade de quarto na opção premium)

Dia 5: Pedalando o Caminho: Baiona - Vigo - Pontevedra (65 km, 1140 metros de altitude acumulada)

Este pode ser o dia mais difícil do seu Caminho! Após o café da manhã, retome seu passeio em direção a Vigo, que fica a 25 km de distância, enfrentando uma subida curta, mas íngreme, para chegar a Saigráns e vivenciar uma das vistas mais bonitas da região: a "Ria" de Vigo, onde a água do mar se mistura com o rio, e você poderá ver as "bateas" onde são cultivados mexilhões (uma iguaria local) e as Ilhas Ciés ao fundo - um parque natural no meio do Oceano Atlântico. Você descerá então para a movimentada cidade de Vigo e depois subirá em direção a uma cordilheira que domina a Ria de Vigo - 12 km de trilhas de macadame com vista para a Ria, seguidos por uma descida em direção a Redondela - de Redondela, o "Caminho central" e o "Caminho costeiro" se tornam um! Outra subida perto de Cessantes e depois uma descida para cruzar o rio Verdugo sobre a ponte românica de "Ponte Sampaio". Mais um esforço final e, a partir do km28, é uma longa descida até você chegar a Pontevedra e ao seu belo Parador bem no centro histórico. Tire um tempo para explorar o centro de Pontevedra a pé à noite pelas praças galegas de Ourense e Ferraria, onde você encontrará a Basílica e a Capela da cidade. Hotel - Parador de Pontevedra (upgrade de quarto na opção premium).

Dia 6: Pedalando o Caminho: Pontevedra - Padrón (41 km, 550 metros de altitude acumulada)

Após o café da manhã, você continuará sua peregrinação sentindo que está cada vez mais perto de Santiago. Você notará outra mudança na paisagem, já que estará abandonando a costa e retornando ao interior da Galícia, com suas exuberantes florestas verdes e áreas arborizadas. Seu hotel do dia está localizado em Padrón, uma vila conhecida por ser o berço da Galícia e por seus Pimentões de Padrón. Reserve um tempo para visitar a vila, subir até o mirante Santiaguiño do Monte, visitar os jardins botânicos ou a cachoeira Toxa e saborear a comida. Dia 7: Pedalando o Caminho: Padrón - Santiago de Compostela (28 km, 475 metros de altitude acumulada)

Após o café da manhã, você iniciará a última etapa do seu Caminho de São Tiago. Esta será uma pequena prova de sua vontade e tenacidade, já que o percurso começa subindo quase desde o início. Você passará por pequenas aldeias e igrejas com sinais claros de que o fim do Caminho está próximo. Ao chegar, visite a Catedral de Santiago de Compostela, ponto final de sua peregrinação. Compostela é uma cidade milenar com lugares e monumentos que merecem uma visita, como suas praças na área central da cidade antiga, as ruas estreitas e os mercados tradicionais. Faça o check-in no seu hotel e depois dedique o restante da tarde para visitar o escritório do peregrino e descobrir as tradições, cultura e patrimônio desta cidade medieval. CYCLING HOLIDAYS FOR EVERY TYPE OF RIDER

While planning your cycling holidays, our staff may contact you to ask for further details to better design a bike tour more suited to you. However, all our tours are built to adapt to groups with different riding experience, having shorter and longer options. For "expert" riders, we provide additional cycling challenges. On the other hand we invite all our guests to simply hop into our premium equipped vans if they feel so or just enjoy a recovery day without using their bike.

RIDER TYPES:

1 BEGINNER

/ I ride my bike on a regular basis, for fitness, commuting or out with friends. I prefer rolling terrain but enjoy reaching my goals and enjoy an active lifestyle. I like to overcome some challenges on my bike, but mostly enjoy the landscapes and atmosphere during group rides.
You will get to ride at your own pace, in moderate distances and hop on our premium van if you so desire or, you can challenge yourself when you feel comfortable! You’ll get to ride in a peloton with like-minded people and always accompanied by our guides. If you want an extra "help" on your rides, you can also request an e-bike.

2 INTERMEDIATE

/ Riding is a great part of my life, and I ride my bike regularly with my friends. I am comfortable with rides of 2 to 3 hours, or even more at a relatively strong pace. I like to be challenged and to surpass obstacles or just ride smoothly in a peloton.
You will get to feel different riding experiences, from tougher climbs to rolling along in great company. You’ll have time to enjoy the great landscapes, gain speed in the descents and also push yourself and climb those tough hills. You’ll enjoy the variety of terrain, riding in a peloton and pushing a little harder just before the stop at the café.

3 EXPERT

/ I ride my bike an average of 100 kilometres or more per week and enjoy a fast paced ride for an extended period of time. I love to train, improve and be challenged by other riders. I enjoy all riding experiences, from big climbs to long, technical descents, especially the ones that allow me to push my limits and make long lasting memories.
You’ll get to ride in a peloton along with your peers but also challenge them on the long climbs. Lead the pack and take on the special extra-challenges we have in store for you – try to keep up with our guides as you go for the extra mile just before your well deserved rest and massage at the hotel!

For mixed terrain, we equip our Scott Sub-Cross fleet with touring tires, so that you’ll roll easily by the countryside backroads and macadam trails alike. These bikes are equiped with a front suspension remote lock-out and handle bar bags, making them the perfect option for touring enthusiasts

E-bikes -Scott E-Scale 930 or Scott E-Ride

Our E-bike fleet is composed of the Scott E-Scale 930 and Scott E-Ride bike models, equipped with 500W Bosch batteries, that will allow you to go great distances and with 250W Bosch motors, to assist you during the toughest climbs! These aluminum framed Scott bikes come equiped with front suspension with lockout.

The models of the bikes for your tour might not be the ones here depicted, according to availability. All our bikes are perfectly maintained and are fitted to every rider on your first experience with us. If you have a special bicycle request, please feel free to contact us.

In our bike trips, you’ll also get to use our Garmin Edge 820 GPS device, so you can record and upload all your rides.

CYCLING HOLIDAYS FOR EVERY TYPE OF RIDER

While planning your cycling holidays, our staff may contact you to ask for further details to better design a bike tour more suited to you. However, all our tours are built to adapt to groups with different riding experience, having shorter and longer options. For "expert" riders, we provide additional cycling challenges. On the other hand we invite all our guests to simply hop into our premium equipped vans if they feel so or just enjoy a recovery day without using their bike.

RIDER TYPES:

1 BEGINNER

/ I ride my bike on a regular basis, for fitness, commuting or out with friends. I prefer rolling terrain but enjoy reaching my goals and enjoy an active lifestyle. I like to overcome some challenges on my bike, but mostly enjoy the landscapes and atmosphere during group rides.
You will get to ride at your own pace, in moderate distances and hop on our premium van if you so desire or, you can challenge yourself when you feel comfortable! You’ll get to ride in a peloton with like-minded people and always accompanied by our guides. If you want an extra "help" on your rides, you can also request an e-bike.

2 INTERMEDIATE

/ Riding is a great part of my life, and I ride my bike regularly with my friends. I am comfortable with rides of 2 to 3 hours, or even more at a relatively strong pace. I like to be challenged and to surpass obstacles or just ride smoothly in a peloton.
You will get to feel different riding experiences, from tougher climbs to rolling along in great company. You’ll have time to enjoy the great landscapes, gain speed in the descents and also push yourself and climb those tough hills. You’ll enjoy the variety of terrain, riding in a peloton and pushing a little harder just before the stop at the café.

3 EXPERT

/ I ride my bike an average of 100 kilometres or more per week and enjoy a fast paced ride for an extended period of time. I love to train, improve and be challenged by other riders. I enjoy all riding experiences, from big climbs to long, technical descents, especially the ones that allow me to push my limits and make long lasting memories.
You’ll get to ride in a peloton along with your peers but also challenge them on the long climbs. Lead the pack and take on the special extra-challenges we have in store for you – try to keep up with our guides as you go for the extra mile just before your well deserved rest and massage at the hotel!
