Portugal has been voted the best travel destination in Europe for the fourth year in a row! The country was distinguished for the fourth time in a row at the 2020 World Travel Awards.

In what has been difficult year for tourism worldwide, this award is a refreshing distinction for the excellent service provided by Portuguese tour operators, hotels, travel agents to our guests. According to Graham Cooke, Founder of the World Travel Awards, “Our winners represent the very best of Europe’s travel and tourism sector and my congratulations to each of them. They have all demonstrated remarkable resilience in a year of unprecedented challenges.”

In total, Portugal won 21 awards at the ceremony – Porto won “best city break destination in Europe”, Lisbon was named “best European cruise destination” and the Algarve the “best beach travel destination in Europe”. The island of Madeira was voted ‘Europe’s Leading Island Destination’ and Azores named ‘Europe’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination’ – click to see the full list of winners.
