Riding the beautiful southern Portuguese coast was both pure fun and a challenge.
This was a great Saturday of cycling with our friends, as we set out riding along the Portuguese coast, on a beautiful sunny day of spring.
This is a cycling challenge as much as it is a scenic ride, starting with the ferry crossing of the Sado River from Setúbal to Tróia, the beautiful unspoilt beaches around São Torpes and Porto Covo and the long plains of Alentejo before we reach the Algarve. The last challenge of this 190km ride was the gentle 5km climb to the top of the Espinhaço de Cão mountain range already in Algarve. After that we only had to roll downhill to the marina of Lagos where we ended our great trip.
This is a great route for cycling holidays in Portugal.
