10 Days North to South

An excellent tour over 10 Days covering 925km from North to South. Nothing was too much trouble for Ricardo and the team. Would highly recommend Live Love Ride for the thoughtful itinerary and choice of hotels. Scott bikes were in premium condition. Evening dinners were a highlight too. Can’t wait to go back and tour with LLR again!!

Amazing day biking near Lisbon

I booked a one day ride around Evora, Ricardo picked me up at the Four Seasons Ritz hotel in Lisbon and we drove out to ride in Évora. We rode for three hours around the area rolling hills through lovely cork forests, up to an ancient stone cropping. Ricardo was an excellent guide and wonderful host. The bike was really great quality. We then had lunch at an amazing restaurant in the heart of the medieval city. The ride was well planned and the whole day went smoothly. I highly recommend this company LLR-Portugal Bike Tours.

Ride Around Portugal With Expert Guides by Your Side!

There’s a certain comfort in knowing everything is taken care of. From airport transfers to wine tastings and local dinner reservations…

That’s what we offer in our guided bike tours in Portugal: a dedicated local guide who accompanies the group throughout the journey, handling logistics and unlocking all kinds of cultural experiences.

Although they won’t ride along with you, they’re always nearby, ready to stop by whenever you need or arrange some snacks and energy boosters.

Our guided bike tours aren’t short sightseeing loops or quick city rides. They’re real cycling holidays, which means days of riding through quiet valleys, along rugged coasts and into villages that seem to have stopped in time.

Imagine tracing vineyard trails in the Douro, feeling the Atlantic breeze in Alentejo Litoral or cycling through centuries of pilgrimage from Porto to Santiago de Compostela…

Maybe it’s your first time on a cycling holiday.

Maybe it’s your tenth.

Either way, our team ensures a seamless ride so you can focus on what matters: the journey, the scenery and the joy of discovering Portugal one pedal stroke at a time.

Why Choose a Guided Cycling Tour in Portugal?

Portugal is one of Europe’s best cycling treasures.

With its mild weather, quiet country roads and diverse terrain, it’s perfect for multi-day guided adventures. But what makes a guided bike tour in Portugal truly stand out is everything you don’t see on a map.

With a local guide by your side (managing everything behind the scenes), you’ll gain access to lesser-known paths, cultural insights and flexible support that no GPS alone can offer.

Plus, cycling infrastructure changes a lot from region to region. So, having someone who knows when to detour, what to avoid and where to stop for a coffee makes the whole experience smoother and a lot more enjoyable.

For those craving authentic experiences, peace of mind, great stories and zero stress? This is your road!

Local Guides Who Know Every Corner and Story

Besides being on top of all logistics, our guides are the bridge between you and Portugal’s soul...

From hilltop castles to cobbled fishing villages, they know the legends, the traditions and the best spots for a quiet glass of wine after a long day’s ride.

They won’t cycle right next to you, but they’re always present, making restaurant reservations, booking local experiences and ensuring smooth transfers. Their presence adds depth to your guided cycling holidays without ever feeling intrusive.

For solo travelers, returning guests or anyone seeking more than just distance covered, their knowledge and guidance turn any bicycle tour into a story worth retelling…

All Logistics Taken Care of, so You Can Just Enjoy the Ride!

During our guided bike tours in Portugal, you won’t need to think about hotel check-ins, moving your luggage or figuring out the next day’s ride...

Everything’s arranged for you! Your bicycle is ready, the route is planned and your bags are already on their way to the next hotel.

Need to adjust your route mid-ride?

Want to stop for a spontaneous wine tasting?

Your guide’s there to make it happen!

They’ll help with bookings, detours and anything else that adds comfort and delight to your trip.

This is how you make a cycling adventure feel effortless!

E-bike Friendly Guided Cycling Holidays

Worried about hills? Don’t be.

All our guided cycling tours in Portugal are e-bike ready, which is great news if you’re riding with friends at different levels or just want to take it easy on the climbs.

Especially in regions like Sintra, Douro or the Azores, having a little extra boost can turn a tough stretch into something fun! Electric bikes are a simple way to keep the group together and the ride enjoyable for everyone.

What’s Included in Our Guided Bike Tours in Portugal?

All our guided cycling holidays are multi-day journeys designed around three main things: comfort, quality and meaningful experiences.

You’ll ride with confidence on a premium bike, sleep in handpicked accommodations and enjoy daily support from a local guide who handles all the behind-the-scenes logistics.

Every guided bike tour includes:

  • Garmin GPS units, preloaded with your routes and key stops;
  • Hydration and energy snacks to keep you fueled during daily rides;
  • Luggage transfers;
  • Mechanical assistance;
  • Personalized briefing before each ride begins;
  • Insurance coverage for added security

Unless you upgrade, meals aren’t included, but your guide will help you find authentic local spots, including rustic tascas, seaside grills or traditional adegas serving the best Portuguese cuisine.

Handpicked Hotels, Top Gear, On-Site Support and Local Guidance

By the end of each day, you’ll stay in 4-star boutique hotels or charming rural houses, always in double or twin rooms with breakfast included. Each property is picked for its comfort, quiet atmosphere and local character, making you feel right at home.

Looking for even more comfort? Our premium bike tours in Portugal include 5-star accommodations, full-board meals and added experiences that elevate your ride.

Bicycle rental is included and tailored to the terrain, so you can choose from road, MTB or touring models, with helmet and toolkit included. And for extra peace of mind, our SAG vehicle is always nearby.

Your guide is also your go-to person for local experiences. Want to visit a family-run estate for a guided wine tour? Check out a medieval castle or find a great spot for dinner by the sea? Just say the word and our local guides will make it happen!

These extras are shaped around what your group feels like doing, whenever you want. No pressure. No fixed schedule. And that’s what makes it feel local, immersive and entirely yours…

Where Our Guided Cycling Holidays Can Take You

From the granite mountains of the North to the warm shores of the Algarve, Portugal is the real cyclist’s dream! And with a small group and expert guide by your side, you’ll move beyond the usual paths into places that truly stay with you…

Ride into ancient villages, past terraced vineyards, along ocean cliffs and through national parks. Each day adds more meaning to your riding journey.

Curious where to go next? Explore our best Portugal Bike Tours to find a region that speaks to your travel style.

From North to South: Landscapes that Stay With You!

In the Douro Valley, winding vineyard roads lead to hilltop viewpoints and riverbank towns steeped in winemaking history. The climbs can be tough, but it is so worth it!

The Alentejo region offers another rhythm: long roads through cork forests, olive groves and whitewashed villages where time slows down. It's more quiet, warm and unforgettable.

Further south, the Algarve brings contrast: dramatic cliffs, pine-scented trails and coastline breezes that carry the smell of salt and citrus.

And then there’s São Miguel, in the Azores, with its incredible biodiversity, volcanic landscapes and surreal peaks. You'll ride past crater lakes, into geothermal valleys and feel like you’ve landed on another planet.

Each region reveals a different side of Portugal.

And every route is chosen not just for beauty, but for the stories they carry…

Upcoming Group Guided Portugal Bike Tours and the Joy of Riding Together

Some of the best moments on a bike tour aren’t just about the ride. They’re about who you ride with...

Our group guided bicycle tours bring together like-minded travelers, creating a friendly and welcoming dynamic from day one! You’ll share the road with others who ride at a similar pace and value the same sense of adventure.

We like to keep things personal, so our groups are small, never more than 8 riders. This way, it’s easier to ride together, chat over meals and the rest just happens naturally.

Many of our group bike tours in Portugal are pre-confirmed, meaning you can jump in with others who’ve already booked.

Also, most biking tours start with airport transfers from Lisbon or Porto, so you can connect with other guests as soon as you land! And by the time the last ride wraps up, it usually feels like you’ve known each other for longer than just a few days…

How to Choose the Best Guided Bike Tour in Portugal?

Not all guided bike tours are the same. That’s why we take the time to help you find the one that fits your pace, interests and comfort level.

Portugal offers everything from rolling wine roads to coastal climbs, and our team knows which tour matches which rider.

If you’re still deciding between guided or self-guided bike tours in Portugal, think about what matters most to you. If it’s local insight, safety and the comfort of having everything handled, our guided cycling holidays give you that, without sacrificing your freedom.

Ask yourself: what kind of experience am I truly looking for?

Match Your Skill Level, Interests and Travel Style

Every rider is different and every guided bike tour we offer reflects that.

Maybe you’re all about ocean views.

Maybe you’re after quiet hilltop towns and a good glass of wine at the end of the day.

Whatever your style, we’ll help you find the ride that fits!

We’ll take into account the terrain, distance and type of bike you prefer. Some guests want an easygoing e-bike trip, others are chasing climbs. Both are welcome.

This isn’t one-size-fits-all.

And you don’t need to have it all figured out. Just let us know what you're looking for, and we’ll help you get there. Step by step.
