A great year to ride in the Alentejo! In 2015, a visit to the European Wine Capital provides an extra excuse to visit this great wine region.
The beautiful region of Reguengos de Monsaraz has been nominated European Wine Capital of 2015 in a selected list of regions whose activities better emphasize the richness and diversity of wine culture while highlighting the common features of the European vine and wine territories.
Reguengos de Monsaraz is located in the South-East of the province of Évora -in the Alentejo region-, has been elected among the two other candidatures, which also applied for the title: Cantanhede, in the Bairrada region, and the joint candidature of Melgaço-Monçao, from the region Vinhos Verdes Alvarinho.
Throughout the year, several wine-related events will be held in Reguengos, promoting the local culture.
This makes for great opportunity to ride through the Alentejo and visit Reguengos de Monsaraz, as a group or couple, on a self-guided or fully assisted experience!
