Cycling in Alentejo Portugal with Live Love Ride

If you want to experience cycling in Portugal, riding through unspoilt countryside I can thoroughly recommend engaging Live Love Ride to show you the way. I have just returned from the Alentejo area where our group were provided with a superb tour by Ricardo of Portugal Bike Tours, enthusiastically assisted by Jonas. We stayed two nights in three different hotels, the last, the Marmoris hotel at Vila Vicosa being superb. I organised the trip, the first time I have ever taken on such a task and every question to Ricardo was answered personally and quickly during the planning stages.
We were met at Lisbon airport and driven to our first hotel. The bikes we hired as part of the tour were modern and very good quality. The electric bikes used by three of the group were brand new. We were all carefully fitted to the bikes ready for the off the next morning.We were supplied with GPS units loaded with the routes plus a Portugues telephone for emergencies. The organisation by Live Love Ride - Portugal Bike Tours was faultless and more than we ever expected.
Every one of our group are keen to go back to Portugal next year and we are already talking to Ricardo about cycling with him in a different area of the Country.

An experience of a lifetime in our guided bike tour in Minho Portugal

We had the experience of a lifetime with our tour guides on our 6 day bike tour around the Minho Valley. We would 100% recommend Live Love Ride for a bike tour in Portugal, for the following reasons: 1. The bicycles (both e-bikes and traditional) were very high quality and were maintained perfectly so there were no mechanical issues. 2. The restaurants and accommodation chosen are all first class. The pool and cold drinks at the end of a warm day’s riding were most welcome! 3. By keeping the rider size to a small number (we had 12), the camaraderie and rapport of the group was allowed to develop. We made very strong connections with our group. 4. Most of all, the care and consideration of our tour guides was exceptional. They worked tirelessly to make sure everything was right and everyone was happy. No request was too great and they were mindful and accommodating of the different skill levels in the riding group.

The Camino: Porto to Santiago de Compostela bike tour

Our group of four senior riders just returned from a wonderful biking adventure in Portugal and Spain, riding from Porto to Santiago de Compostela with Live Love Ride. Once we realized that the full bike trip might be beyond our abilities, Pedro, Rodrigo and Jonas customized the daily rides to better suit our comfort level while maintaining the overall flavor of the experience. Our guides, Rodrigo and Jonas, went in advance to create an appropriate route and Pedro arranged for three out of four of us to have e-bikes, the perfect solution. We came away with great respect for the company’s eagerness to individualize the experience and satisfy their clients. LLR uses well located, quality hotels, Paradors and Posadas and chooses restaurants that provide a sampling of local flavor and foods. Rodrigo’s knowledge of wine was a bonus at each meal. Their primary goals were our safety and our enjoyment. One of the highlights was getting to know our terrific guides, Rodrigo, Jonas and Pedro, and benefiting from their personal experiences and knowledge about the culture and beauty of Portugal and Spain.
