You don’t need a week-long cycling holiday to experience Portugal from the saddle.
Our day bike tours are designed for travelers who want to include a great ride as part of a wider holiday in Portugal. We take care of the route, bike and essential cycling logistics so you can spend the day riding rather than planning.

Whether cycling is one of the main reasons you travel or simply something you want to experience while you are here, a day tour gives you the opportunity to leave the usual sightseeing routes behind and discover a different side of Portugal.
A Live Love Ride day tour is a carefully designed cycling experience built around one destination and one day of riding.
Rather than simply renting a bicycle and deciding where to go, you ride a route created by a local cycling team that understands the roads, terrain, traffic, climbs and places worth stopping along the way.
Depending on the experience, your day can include bike fitting, route navigation, local support, transfers and a guide, together with recommendations for places to stop, eat or explore along the route.
The objective is simple: make one day on the bike one of the highlights of your time in Portugal.
Exact inclusions vary between experiences, but our day tours are designed to make adding a cycling experience to your holiday as straightforward as possible.
Depending on your chosen tour, this can include:
Each individual day tour page clearly explains the route, distance, difficulty, bike options and exact inclusions.
Cycling allows you to experience a destination at a completely different rhythm from exploring it by car or on foot.
In a single ride, you can leave a town or city behind, cross rural landscapes, stop in small villages, reach viewpoints and experience roads that most visitors would never have a reason to discover.
A day tour is also easy to incorporate into a wider trip. You can spend most of your holiday exploring Portugal in other ways and dedicate one day to getting on the bike.
For experienced cyclists, it can be an opportunity to ride some of the best roads in the region without having to travel with a bike or research routes in advance. For recreational riders, an e-bike can make it possible to experience landscapes that might otherwise feel too demanding.
Live Love Ride is a Portugal-based cycling tour operator, and we have been designing and operating bike tours across the country since 2014.
Our day tours benefit from the same route knowledge we use to create our longer cycling journeys. We ride and scout the roads ourselves, looking at much more than distance and elevation. Traffic, road surface, scenery, climbing, worthwhile stops and how enjoyable a road actually feels on a bicycle all influence the routes we choose.
With our own teams and bike stations in Porto, Lisbon and the Algarve, we also operate our bicycle fleet and prepare our bikes locally. That means the route, bicycle and support behind your ride are connected to a real cycling operation on the ground.
Many of the roads used on our day tours are also part of regions we have been exploring with cyclists for years. That experience helps us select a ride that works as a complete day rather than simply giving you a GPX track and sending you on your way.
Our day bike tours make it easy to experience some of Portugal’s best cycling while staying in Lisbon or Porto. Choose from wine country in the Douro and Alentejo, road or mountain biking around Sintra and Arrábida, with new day rides in the Algarve coming soon.
Spend a day riding through one of Portugal’s most spectacular wine regions on our Full Day Bike Tour in the Douro Valley.
We pick you up in Porto and transfer you into the heart of the Douro, where you’ll ride through vineyard-covered hills and along some of the region’s most spectacular roads. Different distances and bike options allow the ride to be adapted to your cycling experience, before completing the day with lunch and a wine tasting at a local wine estate.

Leave Lisbon behind for a day and discover the quiet landscapes of the Alentejo on our Bike Tour to Évora from Lisbon.
After a private transfer from Lisbon, choose from different road or mountain bike routes around Évora, riding through cork forests, vineyards, olive groves and the open countryside surrounding this UNESCO World Heritage city. The experience also includes time to enjoy Évora beyond the bike before returning to Lisbon.

Our Lisbon Road Cycling Tour gives road cyclists access to some of the best riding close to the Portuguese capital.
Choose the forests and climbs of Sintra, the Atlantic roads around Cabo da Roca and Cascais, or head south towards the Serra da Arrábida. Routes can be adapted to different distances and cycling levels, making this a good option whether you want a few memorable hours on the bike or a more demanding day of road cycling.
If you prefer trails to tarmac, our Lisbon Mountain Bike Tour explores the trails, forest roads and singletrack of Sintra or Arrábida.
The route is adapted to your experience and can take you through forests, hills and natural parks, with stops at viewpoints and local villages along the way. Transfers from Lisbon can also be arranged as part of the experience.

Our Algarve day bike tours are coming soon, giving travelers staying in southern Portugal an easy way to add a day of cycling to their holiday. The new experiences will explore the Algarve’s coastal landscapes and quieter inland roads, with routes and bike options for different types of riders.

Our day tours are particularly well suited to travelers who are already visiting Portugal and want to incorporate cycling without turning the entire holiday into a bike tour.
You might be spending several days in Lisbon and want to ride around Sintra and the Atlantic coast, staying in the Algarve and looking for a day away from the beach, or visiting one of Portugal’s wine regions and wanting to experience its landscapes by bicycle.
Because everything happens within a single day, there is no need to change hotels or reorganize the rest of your trip around the cycling.
Simply choose the ride that fits your destination, experience and available time.
Our cycling day tours are designed for a wide range of travelers.
Experienced road cyclists can use them to access great local riding without bringing their own bike or spending hours researching routes. Recreational cyclists can choose more accessible routes or use an e-bike to make climbing easier.
They are also a good option for couples, families and groups of friends who want to share a cycling experience during their holiday.
You don’t necessarily need to be an experienced cyclist, but choosing the right route and bike is important. Each tour shows the distance, elevation and difficulty so you can understand what to expect before booking.
The right format depends mainly on how much of your holiday you want to dedicate to cycling.
A day bike tour is ideal if you want one excellent cycling experience while staying in Portugal for other reasons.
A cycling retreat gives you several days of riding while remaining based at the same hotel. Different loop rides allow you to explore one region in greater depth without moving accommodation.
A traditional multi-day bike tour turns cycling into the journey itself, often moving between hotels as you travel through a region or from one destination to another.
If one day is enough, choose a day tour. If you want a short cycling break from a single base, explore our cycling retreats. If you want to travel through Portugal by bicycle, one of our longer tours will be a better fit.

Absolutely. That is one of the main reasons we created these experiences. A day tour allows you to include cycling within a broader Portugal itinerary without changing hotels or committing several days of your trip to riding.
Some of the best memories of a trip can come from a single day spent doing something completely different.
Get away from the usual sightseeing routes, ride through landscapes you might otherwise never see and experience Portugal at the speed of a bicycle.
We’ll take care of the bike and route. You just need to choose where you want to ride.
