ALGARVE CYCLING CAMP - AUTUMN AND WINTER CYCLING HOLIDAYS

There is more to the Algarve than sunny weather: discover it Autumn and winter seasons and you will find a cycling paradise, with perfect conditions for an Algarve cycling camp.

The Algarve is well known as a destination for summer holidays for many tourists around the world, looking for great beaches, a sunny weather and a mediterranean climate and cuisine.

But, during autumn, winter and spring, it changes dramatically as most tourists end their summer holidays, making it a great destination for cycling holidays. Cycling in Algarve in off-season, you'll find that the roads become much less crowded,  the temperatures allow you to have great rides during autumn and winter and rain is rarely sighted, as the Algarve enjoys an average of more than 300 days of sunshine per year.

So, anywhere between October and June ( with the exception of December and January), it's open season for cycling in Algarve, with riders being able to enjoy great climbs, open roads, flat sections... so much so, that in February, cycling season starts with the Volta ao Algarve, which atracts teams such as Tinkoff-Saxo, Etixx-Quick-Step, and riders like Tony Martin and Alberto Contador.

At Live Love Ride  - Portugal Bike Tours, we prefer to enjoy this region hosting an Algarve Cycling Camp, going for different daily rides in the region, always adapted to the group's experience, and returning to the same hotel everyday, to enjoy the beach and just relax. The location of our hotel is hand-picked to make it easy to access the best climbs in the region like Alto do Malhão, Fóia, Monchique, Barranco do Velho, but also give us access to scenic routes like Lagos to Sagres, Ria Formosa and other, flat out routes.

Many regions like Mallorca are known for their great cycling camps, and the Algarve comes second to none of them.
