Here is a list of our leisure bike tours in Portugal for 2016, divided by region, so you can choose the one that better fits your profile:
Regions: Alentejo
Rider profile: Beginner to Expert
Daily riding distance: 45km to 90km ( adapted to the group's riding skills)
Description: Riding in the north and central Alentejo, you’ll get to discover the history, culture and traditions of one of the world’s best wine countries, according to USA Today. Enjoy a week long ride in these peaceful rolling hills while visiting wine cellars, relaxing in convents and discovering UNESCO world heritage sites in cities like Évora, Vila Viçosa and Monsaraz. Starting in Crato, experienced riders can enjoy climbing to Marvão and the Portalegre mountain range. This bike tour will then head south to the marble region of Estremoz, Borba and Vila Viçosa and then towards the Alqueva lake, passing by Monsaraz. We then ride north, towards Évora, where we'll get to better explore this fortified city.

Description: Explore the beautiful oceanic roads and ride the Arrábida and the Southwest Alentejo natural park, the finest preserved stretch of European coastline, covering over 100 km. Experience the beauty of these untouched beaches, including long stretches of small beaches nested between the cliffs and rocks. Beaches such as Porto Covo, Malhão, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Almograve, Monte Clérigo, Arrifana and Praia do Amado, many of them preserved in a virtually unspoilt state. Ride from Cape Espichel sanctuary, with its trademark cliff and dinosaur tracks, to Cape of São Vicente and the nearby Sagres promontory that housed the famous nautical school founded by the Infante D. Henrique in the 15th century. With its trademark gastronomy and great wines, it’s a great opportunity to taste the amazing fresh fish and seafood that are abundant in this region, as well as the local pastries. Daily riding distance: 45km to 90km ( adapted to the group's riding skills)
Description: 7 days Cycling holidays by the Douro, discovering the world’s first demarcated wine region. Ride by the river, enjoying its trademark UNESCO world heritage “socalcos” or terraced vineyards and experience the secular traditions of this region. Visit the wine cellars, taste some of the best port and Douro wines and discover traces of the early history of Portugal, from up to 30000 years old. Visit the historical villages and challenge yourself up to top of the most beautiful viewpoints, as this is a hilly area. You'll be riding in the deep Douro region, starting in Peso da Régua, towards the heart of this wine country, in Pinhão, and then up the river to São João da Pesqueira and Marialva, classified as an historical village. Expert riders are invited to ride up to the Douro international park, to Barca D'Alva and even Freixo da Espada à Cinta, when they can reach up to Spain.

This is a 7 day bike experience to ride the roads, trails and paths of The Way, passing by chapels, churches, convents and the ever-present road markings, in an experience that truly never ends as you get to know the North of Portugal and Galiza’s great cultural heritage.
