The geographical and climate characteristics of the Algarve, paired with the richness of its nature, culture, history, make it one of the best destinations for road cycling in Europe. Its beautiful coastline, charming, small villages in the interior, Sierras and natural attractions make it a growing destination for road cyclists wanting to explore the region in their cycling holidays.
"The combination of these attributes makes it a great destination for cycling, especially in the off-peak season, as the weather is sunny and nice all year long. It's also a great destination in the pre-season for road cyclists that flee their colder and wetter countries to join Algarve Cycling Camps from January to May, where they explore the inner roads of the Algarve, climbing to the top of the “Monchique mountain range”, “Barranco do Velho”, etc." - read more on our previous blog post, "Cycling Algarve - A Guide for exploring the South of Portugal on a Bike"
