We’re proud to share some very special news from Portugal.
Gold Award – Tour Operators, Overall
Silver Award – Tour Operators, Service
Presented by Travel Weekly and organised by Northstar, the Magellan Awards recognise excellence across the international travel industry, from hotels and destinations to cruise lines and tour operators.
For our team, receiving both Gold and Silver is especially meaningful. It recognises not only the cycling experience itself, but also the service, local knowledge and attention to detail that go into creating our bike tours in Portugal.

Gold and Silver winner Travel weekly magellan awards – Live Love Ride
The Alentejo has always been one of our favourite regions to explore by bicycle.
Stretching across a vast area of southern Portugal, it is a landscape of rolling plains, cork oak forests, vineyards, olive groves, medieval towns and whitewashed villages.
More importantly for cyclists, it offers something increasingly difficult to find: beautiful, peaceful roads where you can simply enjoy riding.
Our Alentejo bike tours were designed around that idea.
Rather than rushing between destinations, the journey gives riders time to experience the region – cycling through its landscapes, staying in carefully selected properties and discovering the food, wine, history and people that give the Alentejo its distinctive character.
Days on the bike are complemented by regional cuisine, local wines and time to explore historic towns such as Évora, Monsaraz and Vila Viçosa.
It is cycling as we believe it should be: great riding combined with a genuine connection to the destination.

Creating a memorable cycling holiday involves much more than choosing a beautiful route.
Behind every Portugal Bike Tours journey is a team working on route design, accommodation, bike preparation, luggage transfers, local experiences and on-the-ground support.
For guided tours, our guides bring the landscape, culture and stories of each region to life.
For self-guided riders, we aim to provide the freedom to explore independently while knowing that the logistics and support have been taken care of.
The Gold Award for Tour Operators – Overall and Silver Award for Tour Operators – Service are therefore particularly important to us because they recognise both sides of what we do: the journey and the service that makes it possible.
Our Bike Tour in Alentejo – Heritage and Wine Country brings together some of the elements we love most about cycling in Portugal.
Quiet country roads lead through cork forests, vineyards and traditional villages, while carefully selected hotels, Portuguese cuisine and the wines of the Alentejo form an important part of the journey.
It is a region that rewards travelling slowly.
Instead of simply seeing Portugal, cycling allows you to experience the changing landscapes, stop in small villages, meet local people and appreciate details that are easily missed when travelling by car.

The Alentejo may have received the award, but the same philosophy guides our cycling tours throughout Portugal, Spain and other destinations.
From riding between the vineyards and terraces of the Douro Valley to cycling the Atlantic coast between Porto and Lisbon, cycling the Portuguese Camino to Santiago de Compostela, exploring the wild landscapes of the Southwest Coast, or discovering the roads on our Algarve bike tours, each journey is designed around the character of the destination.
Portugal may be a relatively small country, but for cyclists it offers an extraordinary variety of landscapes, roads, food, wine and culture.
Our goal is to help riders experience that diversity from the best possible perspective: from the saddle.
Recognition like this is never the work of one person.
We’re grateful to the riders from around the world who have chosen to explore Portugal with us, returned for another journey and recommended our tours to friends and fellow cyclists.
We also want to thank our guides, mechanics, hotels, restaurants, wineries, local producers, drivers and partners who contribute to every experience.
The details may happen behind the scenes, but together they are what turn a cycling route into a memorable journey.
Winning Gold and Silver at the 2026 Travel Weekly Magellan Awards is an important milestone for our team, and motivation to continue creating exceptional cycling experiences throughout Portugal and the world.
