10 Days North to South

An excellent tour over 10 Days covering 925km from North to South. Nothing was too much trouble for Ricardo and the team. Would highly recommend Live Love Ride for the thoughtful itinerary and choice of hotels. Scott bikes were in premium condition. Evening dinners were a highlight too. Can’t wait to go back and tour with LLR again!!

Amazing day biking near Lisbon

I booked a one day ride around Evora, Ricardo picked me up at the Four Seasons Ritz hotel in Lisbon and we drove out to ride in Évora. We rode for three hours around the area rolling hills through lovely cork forests, up to an ancient stone cropping. Ricardo was an excellent guide and wonderful host. The bike was really great quality. We then had lunch at an amazing restaurant in the heart of the medieval city. The ride was well planned and the whole day went smoothly. I highly recommend this company LLR-Portugal Bike Tours.

What Makes the Camino de Santiago from Portugal by Bike So Special?

The Portuguese Camino is a quiet and very intimate route, rich in culture, local tradition and scenic diversity.

There’s something different about doing the Camino by bicycle.

You feel the wind on your face, hear the crunch of your tires on ancient paths and set your own pace… Fast when the views pull you forward or slow when a village café calls your name.

The scenery keeps changing along the Camino de Santiago, but never loses its charm.

One moment you’re riding a wooden boardwalk with the Atlantic at your side. And other moments you’re winding through cobbled streets in medieval towns.

You’ll pass by vineyards harvesting the grapes for Vinho Verde…

Make your way through eucalyptus forests…

And arrive at plazas that have welcomed pilgrims for generations.

Doing the Camino de Santiago from Portugal by bike gives you space to think, to feel and to connect. Every stop is a chance to:

  • Talk to locals;
  • Taste something new;
  • Or just pause and take it all in.

This path is always welcoming, no matter if it’s your first long ride or your tenth... You choose the rhythm and the Camino will guide the way!

Choose Your Camino de Santiago Bike Tour from Porto

Can’t decide which Camino to take?

Our Portuguese Camino de Santiago bike tours begin in the city of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the perfect starting point for a journey that connects so many countries and centuries of history.

From there, you can follow one of two historic trails:

  • The coastal route, where ocean views and beach towns shape the ride;
  • The central route, where rural Portugal opens into forest paths, Roman bridges and ancient stone villages.

And of course, both itineraries take you to the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, the sacred heart of the Camino!

But no matter what you choose, each bike tour is a personalized experience, taking your preferences and travel purpose in mind!

As you see, our Camino de Santiago bike tours are more than reaching Compostela: they’re all about experiencing everything in between…

The Coastal Route: Ride from Porto to Santiago de Compostela by the Sea

You’ll follow Portugal’s northern coastline, with the Atlantic by your side almost every day.

Starting in Porto, you’ll trace wooden boardwalks, quiet beach roads and charming fishing villages like Viana do Castelo and Baiona.

Surf towns, seafood feasts and salty sunsets are all part of the ride too.

The terrain is mostly flat, so this route is perfect for those using e-bikes or riding the Camino for the first time.

Out here, the trails are quiet. Sometimes, the only sound is your tires or a “bom caminho” from a pilgrim walking past you.

Perfect for couples, solo riders and anyone drawn to the Portuguese coastline, our porto to santiago de compostela bike tour captures the Camino’s spirit with a sea breeze twist.

The Central Route: Cross the Heart of Portugal on Two Wheels

Prefer a path that winds through the heart of Portugal?

The central Camino bike tour takes you from Porto’s riverbanks into peaceful countryside surrounded by Romanesque churches, vineyards and ancient bridges.

You’ll climb through places like Labruja, which may test your legs… But the views from the top and the feeling when you get there are worth every pedal!

This is the route where stories are carved into stone.

Where each village reveals another layer of history and each ride ends with a local meal, a warm bed and time to reflect.

The terrain offers more climbs and different elevation levels, ideal for those looking for a more dynamic ride.

If you’re a cultural traveler, a returning pilgrim seeking something new or a cyclist ready for a meaningful challenge, this is your trail... This cycling porto to Santiago de Compostela experience goes beyond the map: it goes straight to the soul!
